EARTH DAY AT THE PANA‘EWA ZOO - HIKI NŌ I NĀ KEIKI KE HANA

Event Date:
April 24, 2010 - 10:30am - 1:30pm

Come celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day at the Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens.  The event is called Hiki Nō i Nā Keiki ke Hana or "Kids Can Do It". Learn how our Hawai‘i Island youth are going green to protect the environment and promote sustainability in our community.

There will be student sustainability presentations, a HI-5 fundraiser for the petting zoo, a scavenger hunt, a worm petting display/composting demonstration, a performance by the Waiākea Middle School Ukulele Band and much more.  We'll be announcing the winners of the Hiki Nō i Nā Keiki ke Hana or "Kids Can Do It" Poster Contest (see contest guidelines below).  Visit the animals and view the gardens too.

Donate a clean empty HI-5 container and receive a free reusable shopping bag while supplies last.

Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies and procedures to participate in this event or language interpreting should contact Rebekah Sluss at 961-8527 (Mon. - Fri. 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.) as soon as possible, but no later than April 19th.
